People Share Their Excitement for Delaware State Fair’s Opening Day

(HARRINGTON, Del) – From grandparents taking their grandkids out, to friends and families having a day out, Opening Day of the Delaware State Fair is bringing together people from all walks of life.

Rachel Tinus from Whaleyville  and her friends tell us, “It’s always just a nice thing to go to something around here helping the community out. Checking out the local businesses that come here…”

I’m looking forward to seeing my Appoquinimink High School FFA and all their animals, and just supporting them. They’re actually looking forward to the rides later on. And on the way here, we talked about finding one thing here to eat that’s, unique and something we haven’t ate before,” says Michele Davis from Magnolia.

In addition to families and friends making the most of Opening Day, other groups from across Delaware are taking on their own part in the State Fair.
Shauna Judd with the Appoquinimink FFA says, “I think it’s really special. And not everyone gets to experience things like this, especially because we have a State Fair and not just like a County Fair. So you really get to see everyone you know from the state and one place, and you just got to have fun and run around.”
We know there’s going to be an enormous amount of, people here, from our state the beautiful state of Delaware, but also surrounding areas. And it’s important so to be here to offer our resources and service to the community who might who might need to tap into our resources,” says Delaware Department of Justice Representative, Corie Priest.
