SALISBURY, Md. – New postage rates are set to take effect this Sunday, July 13th.

The price of first-class mail is rising by nearly 7% overall.

A stamped one-ounce letter will now cost 78 cents while metered mail climbs to 74 cents.

Marketing mail is seeing a steeper jump, up 7.7%, and non-profit mail rates will increase by 3%.

The Postal Service says the adjustments are part of efforts to keep up with inflation and maintain service.
