NASCAR honors the Military at Dover Air Force Base
DOVER, Del.- Richard Childress and Kyle Busch hold special event at Dover Air Force Base Friday afternoon in Dover.
Richard Childress and Kyle Busch were at the Dover Air Force Base this afternoon to honor our troops in a very special way before the races this weekend.
The event started off with opening remarks from Childress and Busch, along with a Q & A, with some coming from the members of the Air Force. One of the most patriotic teams, Childress went into detail about his involvement in USO, Helping Heros and Veteran’s Coffee.
Childress and Busch then unveiled the No. 8 Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen Chevrolet that will be in the NASCAR Cup Series this weekend.
The military members and family in attendance then were treated to lunch sponsored by Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen.
In between all the excitement we got a one on one with Kyle Busch and he was very vocal about his support for the military.
“It’s always important to interact with fans but especially those of the fans of military,” explained Busch. “We’ve been to Dover Air Force Base for years. It’s so close to Dover Motor Speedway it just makes the most sense to come out here and give back to those who help support our freedom and being able to have, the things we get to enjoy and do every Sunday. So the little things can maybe mean a little bit more to them and making sure they have a happier day, and we want to see them out on the race track on Sunday.”
