Maryland’s Coast Agriculture Week is kicking off!

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – This year marks the Second annual “Maryland’s Coast Agriculture Week.” Now, here on the Eastern Shore, agriculture is a really big deal, ranging from crops, livestock,
and horticulture. Worcester County officials are inviting the community to explore local farms and discover the heart of our vibrant agriculture community.

Maryland’s Coast Agriculture Week kicks off August 2nd through 10th, beginning with the Peach Festival in Berlin. This free event will include peach sales, performances, contests, games, and more!

Sunday, August 3, will be the antique tractor show, including tractors and farm equipment that will be judged and voted upon. There will be live entertainment, and adults can enjoy a glass of wine. The Peach Festival in Berlin is on Saturday, August 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and the antique tractor show is taking place at Windmill Creek Vineyard and Winery at Noon.

The Worcester County Department of Tourism and Economic Development has planned 9 days of events that highlight the great things the county has to offer, and they want the entire community to come out and join them.

Monday, August 4, Campbell Sheep Company is offering a hands-on opportunity to learn about animal husbandry and livestock showmanship and it’s open to all ages! Tuesday, August 5, celebrate National Oyster Day by watching the White Marlin Open boat participants at Marlin Fest.

They even say go to a local seafood place and show your support for local businesses. For additional information, contact Communications and Marketing Manager, Brianna Dix at 410-632-3112 extension 2123.
