Locals Talk Beating the Heat
(SALISBURY, Md) – While relief from the extreme heat is on the way, we managed to catch up with a couple of people in Unity Park looking to keep cool.
Families across the area looked to beat the heat in multiple ways, including one mother and her five children playing at the downtown park’s splash pad.
She says it’s been the best, free way for her kids to get some time outside so they can enjoy their summer.
“It’s been very vital because, like I think it might be dangerous to go outside, with it being so high. But, you know, then to have the water cool them down, you know, it’s really nice,” says Monica Fofanah from Salisbury.
We also caught up with one man on a trip with his family out on the Eastern Shore with their plans to try and beat the heat being a little more on the traditional side.
Boris Pesin from Montgomery County, Maryland tells us, “I think it’s critical to stay cool and hydrated right now. That’s why we’re actually headed to the beach to cool off a little bit. Hopefully the rain passes through and brings them some cool weather.”
