Hurlock Police Dept. Preparing for National Night Out
(HURLOCK, Md) – The small community of Hurlock in North Dorchester County is preparing to take part in National Night Out in early August.
The Hurlock Police Department has taken part in National Night Out nearly every year for the last 15 years.
And this year promises to be no different.
As Hurlock Police Chief, Bruce Jones tells us, they’re also getting help from other local groups in the North Dorchester County Community.
“The Lions Club is a good community partner. They will be, as in past, they will be doing a bike giveaway. We have other community partners who have graciously donated their services,” says Chief Jones.
The Hurlock Police Chief goes on to talk about the importance of National Night Out in a smaller community like Hurlock.
With a focus on simply allowing families to get together and meet their neighbors in a safe environment.
He tells us, “It’s a night where neighbors can come out and meet one another. A lot of people don’t know the neighbors get to come out. It is a gathering where they get to know their first responders. EMS will be there. The fire company, the police department will be there.”
Hurlock will be holding their National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th, from 6P.M. to 8 P.M. at Triangle Park, located at Elm Street and Hurlock Ave.
The event is free and refreshments will be provided.
