Foodie Friday: Hot Chix Chicken

HARRINGTON, Del. – WMDT’s Leila Weah is a Foodie, and because she takes her food seriously, she knew she had to find one of the best vendors to try at this year’s Delaware State Fair.

She searched far and wide, high and low, for something that would satisfy her tastebuds, and then she found it: Hot Chix Chicken.

The crew made their famous chicken and waffles, topped with syrup.

“Here on Foodie Friday at the fair, we are not afraid to get our hands dirty,” Leila said with a smile. “This is very sweet and sticky, with the syrup that they put on it.”

“They got two big pieces of chicken on this. If you’re leaving still hungry, I don’t know what to tell you, because this is a big portion,” she added.

But the taste tour didn’t stop there. Right next door is Prime, another food truck owned by the same team. They whipped up a Philly grilled cheese, a beefy delight.

“That prime beef on there, they don’t call it ‘Prime’ for nothing,” Leila said. “It’s seasoned to perfection, not too spicy, not too mild, and I could seriously eat this in two to three bites, and it’d be done.”

“Make sure you get the Philly grilled cheese when you come, I’m telling you, you’re missing out if you don’t get it. This is one that you can’t leave the fairgrounds without trying,” she added.

You can find Hot Chix Chicken at the Delaware State Fair. If you visit them, make sure to tell them you saw them on Foodie Friday.
