Family members to honor life of Kylee Robinson

LAUREL, Del. – On July 21, family members will celebrate the life of 18-year-old Kylee Robinson, who was fatally shot nearly two years ago.

The shooting occurred in the 500 block of West Seventh Street. Investigators determined that two men armed with guns approached Robinson and began shooting before fleeing on foot.

His mother, Danielle Stevens, has become an advocate against gun violence. She continues to organize events in Kylee’s honor.

“Being a mom and not being able to celebrate my son’s birthday in human form, this is the best that I have now,” she said.

The event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on July 21st at Odd Fellows Cemetery. Stevens is inviting the community to join in celebrating her son’s birthday.

“It’s heartbreaking to have to do this. This is really sad, and it’s a lot of moms doing this. We recently had a shooting just a few days ago, not far from us,” she said.

Delaware State Police are asking anyone with information to call 302-741-2729.
