Dorchester Chamber Preparing to Welcome New Teachers

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – School may be out for summer, but Dorchester County business owners are getting ready to welcome the community’s newest educators.

The county’s Chamber of Commerce is looking for donations to include in welcome bags for new teachers.

It’s a tradition local businesses have taken part in over the last few years.

And it’s a small way of saying thanks for a job that’s largely thankless.

“Especially and now schools are challenging, you know, teaching is a is a challenge as we see that and we see turnover. And we really would like to welcome these folks and make them feel really welcome in the community. Want to stay here and see this as a place they wanna finish out their careers,” says Chamber of Commerce President, Bill Christopher.

If you’re interested in donating you can contact the Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce at (410)-228-3575. Donations must be made before August 4th, and all monetary donations must be made by July 18th
