Delaware State Fair Interview: Nick Tabron
"Art for you Caricatures"
HARRINGTON, Del. – The Delaware State Fair had many things to offer, from food to games and rides, and there were plenty of vendors there to purchase from, including one we know very well. WMDT has been a sponsor of the fair for years, and in the past two, we’ve had the opportunity to run into someone who, like us, does a great job at capturing pictures.
Portraits of Persona’s
Nick Tabron has been drawing for the past 30 years, and for the second year in a row, he’s decided to bring his talents to the Delaware State Fair in Harrington. WMDT’s Tierra Williams had a chance to get her portrait drawn and had a chance to ask him a few questions!
Tierra: “I’m here right now with Nick Tabron from ‘Art for you Caricatures.’ Nick, how long have you been coming, and what keeps you coming back?”
Nick: “This is my second year here; last year was my first. And the reason I just keep coming back is that people in Delaware are so nice, so inviting, and easy to entertain. It’s been a very, very nice experience.”
Tierra: “How did you get into drawing? Last year, you drew a couple of our WMDT team members. Why do you like drawing so much?”
Nick: “Well, my mom said that I drew on her walls at 2 years old. So, of course, I studied art, and I just find it very, very inviting to be able to try to capture a person’s persona and entertain them and make them feel good. ”
Tierra: “And speaking of capturing a person’s persona, just before this interview, you drew me and I haven’t actually seen this yet, so on the count of 3, let’s flip this up. One, two, three! **gasp** Oh my goodness, this is so beautiful! Oh, I love it.
