Caricature Artist Returns to Delaware State Fair for Second Year
HARRINGTON, Del. — Caricature artist Nick Tabron has returned to the Delaware State Fair for his second year, bringing three decades of experience in capturing faces with flair.
Tabron, said what he enjoys most is drawing people’s eyes, the part of the face he believes reveals the most.
For Tabron, creating a caricature is more than just drawing, it’s an artistic study of people. He says he often draws inspiration from the energy and essence of the person sitting in front of him.
“I can tell a little bit about your heritage. I’m looking at you, and the blond hair just gave me the idea to choose this theme,” Tabron explained. “I thought it would be appropriate for you. And, basically, as a cartoonist, we study people and we look at people, and sometimes you can just feel a certain energy or a certain feel about a certain person.”
Visitors to the fair can find Tabron and two other artists working from his booth, adding a personalized touch to their day with his unique sketches.
The Delaware State Fair runs through July 26 in Harrington.
