Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore hosts back-to-school donation drive

SALISBURY, Md. – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore is calling on the community for donations.

The organization is hosting its annual back-to-school drive, collecting items that they’ll be distributing to kids in need, at the end of the summer.

They’re collecting backpacks, binders and other essential classroom items. Kelly Carey with Big Brothers Big Sisters said this is a great way to give back to the community.

“A lot of the families, specifically in our program, are disadvantaged. They come from rougher backgrounds, and maybe they may not have the things they need to return back to school,” said Carey. “We just want to make sure that we’re presenting any disadvantaged families in our community with the resources that they need.”
