Berlin Little League falls to Montgomery County in Maryland Majors Tournament
SALISBURY, Md. – Montgomery County’s offense outpaced Berlin for a 13-4 victory on Tuesday at West Salisbury Little League in the 2025 Maryland State Major League Baseball Tournament.
The scoring started early for Montgomery County, with a two-run shot from Maddox Schiano giving them a 2-0 first inning lead. They expanded on that lead with a two-out grand slam from Jaden Cuevas to make it 6-0 in the top of the third.
Berlin would get on the board with an RBI single from Benny Maldanado in the bottom of the third.
Montgomery County was able find plenty more offense in final three innings of the game, scoring multiple runs in each as Berlin scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the fifth and James Runkles got them to four with a two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth.
Now with one loss, Berlin will play South Baltimore on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at West Salisbury Little League.
Montgomery County will play the winner of that game for the Maryland Major League State Championship on Thursday at 6 p.m.
