Worcester County to conduct salary study for all employees

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – Worcester County will undertake a compensation analysis for its employees following the adoption of the county’s fiscal 2026 budget.

Commissioner President Eric Fiori said the county is in a “strong financial position.” However, because of various factors related to the budget, the study could help identify potential problems moving forward.

Commissioner Caryn Abbott said the study will promote transparency and clarity between residents and officials.

“We’re also doing a salary study for all the employees in the county, and that will help us learn where we are and where we need to be,” she said. “So I’m really excited to learn about those results.”

There is no timeline for how long the study will take; however, officials are expected to announce updates to the process at the next commissioner meeting June 17.
