UWLES gearing up for annual Christmas in July fundraiser
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore is gearing up for its annual Christmas in July baseball game.
The ball game brings out droves of community members each year, looking to help the organization raise funds for its Secret Santa program.
Money is raised through ticket sales and sponsorships, and with that fundraising, UWLES spokesperson, Ryan Jackson said the organization is able to make Christmas special for families on the shore.
“It’s a time where, if we can provide something small that makes a person feel like everyone else, included, it brings that hope, and I think that’s important,” said Jackson.
And it’s not just during the ball game that you can make contributions to the program.
“You can donate any time you want, and you can designate it towards Secret Santa,” said Jackson. “If that’s a mission that speaks to yourself, by all means. We also have individual tickets for the Christmas in July event, which is July 24th.”
First pitch is at 7:05 on Thursday, July 24 at Shorebirds Stadium. To purchase tickets, you can visit UWLES.org.
