Two arrested, third suspect at large following home invasion robbery in Camden-Wyoming

CAMDEN-WYOMING, Del. – Delaware State Police say two suspects have been arrested and a third remains at large following a home invasion robbery Saturday night.

At around 11 p.m., troopers were called to an RV in the 5000 block of Mud Mill Road for a reported home invasion. Preliminary investigation revealed that three masked men, one of whom was known by the victim, forcibly entered the RV. One of the suspects reportedly threatened the victim with a knife, while the others ransacked the RV and stole the victim’s property.

The suspect known to the victim, identified as 48-year-old George Carey, fled the scene on foot. The other two suspects fled in a black Ford crossover style vehicle. Troopers found Carey walking on Mud Mill Road and took him into custody, at which time they found him to be in possession of the victim’s stolen property, approximately 5.24 grams of methamphetamines, approximately 3.68 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Carey was subsequently held at SCI on a $30,000 cash bond after being charged with first degree robbery, second degree burglary, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, second degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Further investigation led detectives to identify the other two suspects as 20-year-old Daniel Johnson and 28-year-old Matthew Doby.

Johnson was arrested on Tuesday and charged with first degree robbery, second degree burglary, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and second degree conspiracy. He was held at SCI on a $96,000 secured bond.

Doby remains wanted at this time. Troopers are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to call Troop 3 at 302-697-4454, Detective M. Williams at 302-698-8502, or 911.
