Talbot Co. townhouse fire deemed accidental, causes estimated $1 million in damage
ST. MICHAELS, Md. – A townhouse fire in Talbot County has been ruled accidental.
The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday, at 9790 Martingham Circle, Unit 3, in St. Michaels. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm, and crews battled for nearly one hour before bringing it under control.
Fire Marshals determined that the blaze began in the attic and was caused by a mechanical/electrical issue with the air conditionining unit located in the attic. Total damage has been estimated at $1 million.
