Suspicious death investigation underway in Rehoboth after man found dead in car
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating a suspicious death after a man was allegedly found dead inside a parked vehicle in Rehoboth Beach.
At around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Rehoboth Beach Police officers were called to the 40 block of Olive Avenue for a report of a foul odor coming from a parked vehicle. They found a grey Mazda CX-5 with Virginia registration parked legally on the street in front of a residence. When officers checked the vehicle, they found the body of a deceased man that was partially covered, making it difficult to see from outside the vehicle.
Rehoboth Beach Police subsequently requested the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit to assume the investigation. The victim was taken for an autopsy to confirm his identity and cause and manner of death.
