Shots fired investigation leads to arrest of Dover man

MAGNOLIA, Del. – Delaware State Police say a Dover man is behind bars following a shooting investigation Saturday afternoon.

At around 1:20 p.m., troopers were called to a boat ramp at Canterbury Road and Waterside Drive in Felton for a reported shooting. It was learned that the victim was returning to her car with her daughter when she got into an argument with an unknown man and woman in a tan sedan. The man allegedly pointed a black handgun at the victims following the argument, possibly firing an unknown number of shots as the victims drove away. There were no reported injuries, and troopers were not able to locate the suspect or vehicle in the area.

Later that day, at around 5:20 p.m., troopers were called to Strawberry Drive and Orange Street in Magnolia for a reported disorderly person. At the scene, troopers learned that a man in a light colored Ford Focus was arguing with a man walking down the street, during which the suspect allegedly pulled a black handgun from the trunk of the Ford and threatened the victim. During a search of the area, troopers found the suspect in the Ford on Strawberry Drive, identified as 28-year-old Christopher Wyman. Troopers were able to link Wyman and the Ford as the suspect and vehicle involved in the shots fired incident in Felton earlier that afternoon. Troopers also found a BB gun matching the description of the firearm used in both incidents.

Wyman was subsequently charged with three counts of aggravated menacing and terroristic threatening and was held at SCI on a $10,000 secured bond.
