Shots fired incident near Slaughter Beach Memorial Volunteer Fire Company under investigation
MILFORD, Del. – An investigation is underway following a shooting near the Slaughter Beach Memorial Fire Company Thursday evening.
At around 7:15 p.m., troopers were called to the public access area next to 359 Bay Avenue for a reported shooting. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 32-year-old Dover man was attending a party at the pavilion behind the fire company when roughly three masked suspects arrived and allegedly began firing multiple rounds at the attendees.
As the victim tried to flee, he was reportedly hit in the lower extremity. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was treated and released.
The suspects fled the area before police arrived but were described as wearing all black clothing and black ski masks. Police say it is not currently known how they arrived at or left the scene, and surveillance footage is not yet available.
