Police are currently investigating a shooting that left one woman injured in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that left a 43-year-old woman injured.

According to the Dover Police Department, around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, they were in the downtown area when they heard shots fired near Minor Street Alley.

When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshots.

She was taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Officers learned that the suspect, described as a black male, left in a stolen 2024 Kia Forte.

They found the suspect driving the car on Leipsic Road and attempted a traffic stop, but the Kia crashed into a farm field before the suspect fled the scene.

Officers found a firearm that the suspect left during the crash, but there are no leads at this time.
