Pocomoke hosting 2025 Maryland State Softball Tournament

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Pocomoke Little League will be hosting the Majors Division of the 2025 Maryland State Softball Tournament at Newtown Park Recreational Sports Complex from July 7-12, 2025.

Ages 10-12 will competing for their spot in the Eastern Regional Mid-Atlantic Tournament in Bristol, Connecticut, in late July.

Travis Cowger, President of the Pocomoke Little League, was excited about the return of the tournament, with 2018 the last time it came to Pocomoke.

“It means a lot to have it local, our girls get to play on their own fields here,” explained Cowger. “On their home turf, people don’t have to travel as far especially across the state, which some people might not be able to do. But it really means a lot. The community is a big supporter. People come out and help put on the tournament and help us with different needs, and it just really nice to have to have it here in our hometown.”
