Pair arrested on drug charges in Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. – Seaford Police say two people were arrested for possession of narcotics earlier this week.

On Wednesday, officers observed a man, identified as Devon Cannon, in the area of Nutter Lane. Cannon was confirmed to be actively wanted on several capias’, and police made contact with him. While taking Cannon into custody, a second subject, identified as Miya Newcomb, reportedly approached and tried to remove items from Cannon’s possession. During the process, police say several bundles of suspected heroin fell onto the ground in front of officers.

A subsequent search led officers to find a total of 2,236 bags of heroin and 3.7 grams of crack/cocaine.

Cannon was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, second degree conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, and possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity. He was held on a $133,600 cash bond.

Newcomb was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, second degree conspiracy, tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, and possession with intent to distribute in a tier 3 quantity. She was held on a $45,400 cash bond.
