Milford Police arrest 16-year-old following armed robbery investigation
MILFORD, Del. – Milford Police say a juvenile has been charged in connection to an armed robbery that took place over the weekend.
Police say they were called to respond to Game Stop in the 900 block of N. DuPont Boulevard just after 6 p.m. Saturday for a reported armed robbery. It was reported that a man wearing a blue hoodie and black mask came into the store with a handgun, demanding money. The suspect reportedly fled the store without obtaining any money.
Officers and Delaware State Police Aviation searched for the subject but could not locate him.
Further investigation revealed that the suspect had discarded the firearm behind the building, which was recovered by investigators and determined to be a BB gun. The suspect then allegedly got into a red Ford Escape and fled the area.
The suspect was identified as a 16-year-old male from Harrington, who was subsequently arrested at his residence and charged with first degree attempted robbery, aggravated menacing, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and tampering with physical evidence. He was later released to a guardian on a $74,000 unsecured bail and was ordered to be GPS monitored by Juvenile Probation.
