Man arrested for alleged rape in Bethany Beach

BETHANY BEACH, Del. – Bethany Beach Police say a man has been charged in a rape investigation.

On June 1st, officers with the department learned of a reported rape of a 19-year-old female through the South Coastal Health Campus in Millville. Thorough investigation led police to identify and arrest 35-year-old Mark Buckheit Jr. in connection to the report.

Buckheit was charged with second degree rape without consent and third degree unlawful sexual contact. He was issued a no-contact order with the victim and held at SCI on a $21,000 secured bond.
