Laurel Police arrest juvenile on firearm, drug charges following trespassing investigation
LAUREL, Del. – A juvenile was arrested in Laurel earlier this week following a trespassing complaint.
Laurel Police say they were called to the 500 block of Pasture Lane in the Hollybrook Apartment Complex for the complaint. When the officer initially arrived at the scene, they met with a male juvenile who was reportedly sitting on the steps of the 500 building. Police say the officer was aware that the juvenile did not live in the complex.
Based on the subsequent investigation, it was determined that the juvenile would be detained, at which point he allegedly began to resist arrest and tried to flee from the office. During the struggle, the juvenile continued resisting until a second officer arrived at the scene to help in gaining control of the juvenile.
A search incident to arrest was conducted on the suspect, at which time officers reportedly found a loaded .22 caliber handgun and 3.5 grams of marijuana. The juvenile was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon a firearm, carrying a concealed deadly weapon/deadly instrument/CCDW/CCDI, resisting arrest with force or violence that intentionally prevents or attempts to prefent a peace office from effecting an arrest, possess/consume marijuana under 18, and possess/purchase/own or control of a deadly weapon persons under 18.
He was held at the Stevenson House Detention Center on a $21,000 cash bond.
