Kent Co. Public Library hosts New Zealand pen pal program
DELAWARE. – Have you ever wanted to learn about a different country, without leaving home?
The Kent County Public Library is accepting folks for their pen pal program. It’s grown exponentially over the years, and it matches Delawareans with pen pals in New Zealand.
Participants get letters on a monthly basis, sometimes photos, too. Robin Agar helped bring the program to life and said it’s a great opportunity to make a new friend from a different part of the world.
“It’s such a great thing for kids and adults,” said Agar. “First of all, to just unplug from a device, unplug from instant gratification of texts and emails, and spend some time waiting for letters. It’s great to see the kids actually anticipate something.”
