Germantown School to host ‘Summer Fun Kickoff’ Saturday
BERLIN, Md. – The Germantown School will host an event at its Heritage Center to celebrate the Summer Fun Kickoff, which invites students to get outside and enjoy themselves on the first day of summer.
There will be rides, face painting, animals and free food.
Barbara Purnell said the day is designed to mirror historic celebrations held at the school between 1923 and 1954.
“It’s celebrating the children and reward them for their school year. It’s a day of fun, laughter and food,” she said. “It’s a sense of pride to bring all these people together, because it’s a place for all people.”
The event is free and runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 10223 Trappe Road in Berlin.
