UPDATE: Fatal pedestrian crash under investigation in Snow Hill

SNOW HILL, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a pedestrian crash that claimed the life of a Snow Hill man early Friday morning.

At around 4:20 a.m., troopers were called to the area of Snow Hill Road and Carmean Road for a reported crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a pedestrian, later identified as 69-year-old Dehart Lamb Jr., was walking along Snow Hill Road when he was reportedly hit by a vehicle.

Lamb was pronounced dead at the scene by Snow Hill EMS.

The vehicle remained at the scene, and police say they do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash.

The roadway was closed for an extended period of time following the crash, but has since reopened. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
