Emerging Leader: Julia Carson

WMDT – Julia Carlson is a Salisbury University student from Berlin that recently was awarded the Board of Regents Excellence Scholarship.

She is set to receive $2,000 from the University System of Maryland for winning the innovation and creative activity.

We’re told she plans to use the money towards tuition.

Carlson shared some advice for incoming students interested in applying for prestigious scholarships and says to just try as you never know if you’ll win.

She is an urban and regional planning major that hopes to become an architect.

Julia is going into her junior year and says she doesn’t have any solid plans for after graduation, but knows she wants to take the time to gain new life experiences.
