Dorchester Co. Preparing for Thunder on the Choptank in July

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – if you’re got competitive side and a knack for boating, there’s a big event calling you on the Choptank River next month.

The Kent Narrows Racing Association will be holding their annual “Thunder on the Choptank” boat race in Mid-July.

Dorchester Chamber of Commerce President, Bill Christopher says they’re expecting a major turnout as boats will race down the Choptank river from Cambridge.

It’s the second boat race of the year in Dorchester County with more than 35 vessels expected.

Bill tells us, “Having two boat races in one city is pretty cool. There aren’t many places actually that much of any other to have two basically international powerboat races in the location. So actually having a second one here happening in July when a lot of other things going on, but people want to get out…”
