Discover Delmarva: Splash Mountain Waterpark at Jolly Roger Amusement Park

OCEAN CITY, Md- Splash Mountain Water Park at Jolly Roger Amusement Park continues to be a must-visit every year in Ocean City. We met up with Dawn Dillon, the Director of Sales and Marketing, who showed us around and talked to us about the importance of the park in the community.

Dillon says, “It’s great to see all the families enjoy year after year. Come back and just experience new rides.”Each year the goal remains to same- for them to bring the best experience possible for guests. With some big updates, you may notice this year! “We did paint- you can see the eye of the hurricane, the pink and the green there, it pops.”

This was way too inviting! Going into the Eye of a Hurricane is on every Meteorologist’s wish list! So I grabbed a tube and made the climb- just don’t look down if you’re scared of heights. This was a double rider, so I dragged Kolby along with me, and off we went! Racing down, I thought the worst of the storm was over. Man, I was wrong- typical weatherman! We raced around in circles, eventually reaching the “Eye,” where we went down backwards! Exiting the storm fully soaked- but I’m not complaining, it felt great!

Since I wasn’t drenched already, I went down their Cannon Ball slide next. This one had some speed and sent me airborne for what felt like an eternity! I highly recommend this one to help wake you up in the morning- who needs coffee!

Dillon tells us whether it’s the thrills you seek or the relaxation you need, there’s something for you! “There’s something for everybody here, from the rain forest to the speed slide. To our lazy lagoon and our lazy river.” I grabbed a single tube and got my company nap time in! Relaxing in the lagoon, where you’d better be careful if you plan on closing your eyes, it quickly turned into a barrage of waves, throwing you around for a ride! One of the staples here is the Master Blaster, the only slide at the park where you’ll go uphill on your ride!

Kolby and I loaded up into the double tube, and we were on our way. We were flying through the slide with the same shimmy and turns of a regular roller coaster, racing right into the lazy river, which was a perfect way to end our fun in the water.

Dillon says there’s plenty of fun to be had during your visit in the water or on land! “We have two miniature golf courses here, Jungle and Treasure, both 18-hole, and we also have Speed World go-karts.”

The Treasure Golf was challenging but rewarding, with some creative holes thanks to the Arnold Palmer design of the course. This design of the course introduced many obstacles, from water to sand bunkers and various slopes. The Jungle Course has some great holes and views overlooking the park! They have plenty of rides in the park for visitors with lots of free fun. With amazing views of the Bay over in Speedworld on their cart coaster.

They have lots of free fun throughout the park during your visit. With mermaids, theatre, clowns, and even circus acts!

Their Big Ticket includes access to all their parks, and the best part? You don’t have to use it all in the same day! For more information on their ticket packages and attractions, check out their website.
