Discover Delmarva: Frontier Town
BERLIN, Md- Frontier Town in Berlin is unlike any town here across the shore. The 1880s replica town transports you back to the Wild West with live shows and interactive activities for visitors.
Cowboy Austin was awaiting my arrival in the town to get the show started! “Hi, Jake, I’m Austin. Welcome to Frontier Town. Let me give you the grand tour.”
They have their own general store, saloon, and leather shop to truly get you into the Wild West spirit! If you’re lucky or more so unlucky, you might catch a bank robbery. The show is full of stunts and action to keep your attention.
After the show in the town, we checked out the village of Red Bird, quaintly placed in the woods. Where we meant John Laughing Wolfe, “We’re at the village of Red Bird. Hello, my name is John Laughing Wolfe. This is my sister Amy Screaming Eagle, and this is a real good friend of ours, Elijah Littlefrog.”
They have archery, tomahawk throwing, shows, and so much more than happens inside the village that has been here since 1960. We were treated to a couple of traditional Native American Dances. Then I tried out my archery skills, which was quite the struggle. The tomahawk throw wasn’t much better, as I couldn’t quite get the right spin on my throws.
The one thing I was told during my visit that stuck with me is that you never know what to expect during your time at Frontier Town
So, of course, to end off the day, we went out on a “bitter” note. Cowboy Austin welcomed me into the saloon. “Hey Jake, come on in here and let me buy you a pickle shot. Hannah set my friend up here. Pickle Juice Shot, hope you enjoyed your day here at Frontier town.”
The most important part of Frontier Town is The Western Experience, is free! They have shows six days a week, excluding Wednesdays. For more information on the experience and the town itself. Check out their website.
