Diakonia helping community amid extreme summer heat, encouraging others to help
OCEAN CITY, Md. – Diakonia is helping the community amid the recent extreme heat.
Diakonia’s Mobile Outreach Team recently located a new encampment in Wicomico County, where they were able to help three people with SNAP applications and connection to PATH and ReEntry Services.
The Rapid Response Team and Mobile Outreach Team work seven days a week to help people wherever they are, delivering water, transportation to cooling centers, harm reduction resources, and compassionate support.
Diakonia is also asking for the community’s help. They say $5 can provide a 40 pack of water, $10 purchases sunscreen or sport hydration drinks, and $50 fuels the outreach vehicle for one week.
