Dewey Beach PD assists in medical emergency
DEWEY BEACH, Del. – Dewey Beach Police helped with life-saving medical response Thursday night.
We’re told officers were called to a medical emergency involving CPR-in-progress at a residence on Saulsbury Street at around 9 p.m. Officers arrived to find an off duty firefighter performing CPR on an unresponsive adult man on the front porch of the residence. A Dewey Beach Police officer deployed an Automated External Defibrillator, which delivered two shocks before detecting a pulse.
EMS crews arrived a short time later, and the patient was taken to Beebe Hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment.
