Delaware State Police Talk 39th Annual Torch Run

DOVER, Del. – Delaware law enforcement is gearing up for one of their biggest traditions as part of their support for the Special Olympics.

Nearly 800 members of Law Enforcement will be running across the state, carrying the Flame of Hope as part of the 39th annual Torch Run.

The three day run has raised more than twelve million dollars since it first started, creating a symbol of hope in the community.

Delaware State Police Corporal Lewis Briggs tells us it truly is a unique event.

Corporal Briggs tells us, “This is very special to everyone in law enforcement that participates in some form or fashion as it’s an opportunity for us to work with those special athletes.”

The Torch Run will go from Wednesday, June 11th, to Friday, June 13th.
