City of Milford announces appointment of next City Manager

Coleman

MILFORD, Del. – The City of Milford has announced the appointment of its next City Manager, Christopher Coleman.

Coleman was selected after a thorough nationwide search and brings 30 years of experience in public administration, with a well-established track record of leadership, innovation, and community engagement across five Massachusetts municipalities.

We’re told he began his public service career as a summer intern in Marblehead, MA, and rose through the ranks, holding positions such as Treasurer/Collector, Assistant Town Administrator, Director of Human Resources, and Assistant Town Manager. He became the Town Administrator for Westwood, MA, in 2019.

“Chris will be a welcomed leader to the City of Milford staff and the community,” said Mark Whitfield, current City Manager. “His deep experience in local government and his strong commitment to community-centered leadership will be invaluable as we continue to grow and improve city services.”

Coleman’s appointment is effective August 4th.
