Cambridge pole barn fire ruled accidental

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – A fire that destroyed a pole barn in Dorchester County on Thursday has been ruled accidental.

The blaze was reported shortly before 5 p.m. at 5334 Town Point Road in Cambridge. The fire was upgraded to two alarms and took roughly two hours to control.

Fire Marshals say the fire was caused by the spontaneous combustion of the hay inside the barn. Total damage was estimated at $150,000.
