Cambridge Celebrates Older Americans Appreciation Day

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The city of Cambridge celebrated the older members of its community, despite the dreary conditions today.

In honor of Older Americans Appreciation Day, the downtown area of city hosted an event called Move With The Mayor.

Mayor, Lejan Cephas tells us it’s important to include older members of the Dorchester County Community.

“We believe it’s always important to allow our seniors and older community to have the ability to age in place. So often, you know, once you get to a certain age, it becomes a little difficult, maybe financially and sometimes physically to maintain the, you know, the safe maintenance of your home,” says Mayor Cephas.

The city’s Homeowner Helper Program also provides help to older members of the community.
