Additional harm reduction vending machines installed in Somerset Co.

SOMERSET CO., Md. – The Somerset County Health Department says it has installed three additional harm reduction vending machines in the county as part of its efforts to combat the opioid crisis and reduce overdose deaths.

There are now a total of five vending machines across the county that provide free access to essential harm reduction supplies, including naloxone, fentanyl test strips, xylazine test strips, Deterra drug disposal bags, personal hygiene kits, wound care kits, and male latex condoms.

The vending machines can be found at the following locations:

  • UMES Residence Life Center: 10800 McCain Drive, Princess Anne
  • Wellness & Recovery Center: 11674 Somerset Avenue, Princess Anne
  • Somerset County Health Department: 8928 Sign Post Road, Westover
  • Deal Island-Chance Volunteer Fire Company: 10090 Deal Island Road, Deal Island
  • Woodrow T. Wilson Community Center: 119 S. 7th Street, Crisfield (indoors, no 24/7 access)

The machines require no personal information and no interaction with staff.
