2025 Salisbury Community Kidney Walk

SALISBURY, Md. – Sunday morning in Salisbury there was a special event for a cause close to many hearts.

The National Kidney Foundation held its annual Salisbury Community Kidney Walk, an event that promotes awareness for the 37 million Americans living with Chronic Kidney disease, while raising money for research, patient services, and education.

Participants joined for any number of reasons: to support a loved one, to share their own experiences, or just to connect with the community.

This year’s kidney walk brought in over $16,000 in donations. Paul Butler, a kidney recipient and walk participant, was able to raise over $1,200 for the cause.

Now his 3rd year participating in the Kidney Walk, Butler explained why he walks, saying, “There’s so many people with kidney disease, and 100,000 who are the list now nationwide to get a kidney. I’ve come out and walked, this has been my third year doing this, because at first I needed a kidney, I was blessed to get a kidney from my daughter. I’m just out here to support anybody who has chronic kidney disease and who needs help, wants to get off dialysis and get that kidney transplant. So that’s why I come out.”
