Tom Brown leaves legacy on the Eastern Shore

SALISBURY, Maryland. – The Community is mourning the loss of Tom Brown who was a beloved two sport athlete who called Salisbury home for many years. Brown was 84. Brown was a two sport professional athlete  and eastern shore coaching legend. He played for Hall Of Fame Coach Vince Lombardi and won 2 super bowls. Brown became a Packer when he was drafted back in 1963 out of the University of Maryland.He was part of three straight NFL championship winning teams from 1965 to 1967.Brown played for the Washington Senators in 1963. His first game for them was on April 8th. Brown was the first athlete to both play baseball in the Majors and appear in a Superbowl. Brown also had a passion for helping young athletes and he ended up founding a youth sports league on the Eastern Shore from 1989 to 2015. It was called the Tom Brown’s Rookie League and the sports were flag football, baseball, and basketball.
