Sussex Tech comes from behind to punch ticket to DIAA Championship

NEWARK, Del. – Sussex Tech softball came back against Sussex Academy to win the DIAA Softball Semifinal 10-6, Tuesday afternoon in Newark.

The Seahawks opened up a big lead by the end of the fourth inning with the help from Caroline White, Grayce Glover and Ashlyn Troxler.

In the bottom of the fourth inning the Ravens found their footing as Hayley Lawson got an RBI double to bring home Chloe Warrington.

In the sixth inning Sussex Tech would score 6 runs with the help of Bella Brittingham’s sac fly bringing home Cierra Lewis, Madi Mayers’s RBI single (2) bringing home Mariah McCabe and Paige Krepps, and a home-run from Lawson bringing in Warrington and Myers.

The Seahawks would only score once more in the sixth inning, while the ravens scored two more runs in the seventh inning cementing their win.

The Ravens will be playing against Caravel in the DIAA Softball State Championship game Fri. May 30th, at 7 pm.
