Salisbury man arrested in connection to shooting that injured 14-year-old

SALISBURY, Md. – Salisbury Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting that left a 14-year-old injured last week.

The incident took place just after midnight on May 8th, in the 400 block of Prince Street. Officers responded to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional to meet with the 14-year-old victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and suspect were together when a confrontation broke out between them, during which the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm and fired it, hitting the victim once in his neck.

The victim was later transferred to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment. His injuries were initially listed as life-threatening, but his condition is now stable.

Police were able to identify the suspect as 22-year-old Dorrian Clayborne and obtained an arrest warrant. At around 7 a.m. Tuesday, officers found Clayborne at a residence in the 600 block of N. Westover Drive and took him into custody. He has been charged with attempted first and second degree murder, first and second degree assault, handgun on person, handgun in vehicle, reckless endangerment, and firearm use in a violent crime.
