Rehoboth woman arrested for incident with HOA
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – A Rehoboth Beach woman was charged following an incident with a Homeowners Association on Monday.
Shortly before 10 a.m., troopers were called to a property on Black Duck Reach for a report of a resident causing a disturbance. When troopers arrived at the scene, they learned that a member of the HOA and contractors were clearing ivy on a fence within an easement in the area. While working, a resident who lives near the easement, identified as 62-year-old Jennifer August, reportedly approached the group and started arguing with them. During the incident, August allegedly threatened one of the contractors with a pair of scissors, threw debris on another contractor, and sprayed the HOA member with an unknown liquid.
Troopers found August at her residence and subsequently arrested her for possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, second degree assault with a disabling chemical spray, aggravated menacing, offensive touching, and disorderly conduct. She was later released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
