Police investigating hit-and-run involving tractor trailer near Bay Bridge

QUEEN ANNE’S CO., Md. – Maryland Transportation Authority Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash near the Bay Bridge on Tuesday.

We’re told the crash happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of Route 50, prior to the westbound span of the Bay Bridge. At the scene, officers found a black Scion tC, a silver Jeep Wrangler, and a gold Honda Odyssey that had all been involved in the crash. The driver of the Scion sustained serious injuries and was taken by MSP Aviation to a local hospital.

Preliminary investigation led detectives to believe that a tractor trailer was involved in the crash and hit the Scion. The tractor trailer allegedly did not stop and continued onto the westbound span of the Bay Bridge.

Investigators are working to identify the tractor trailer and its driver and is asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact MDTA Police at 410-295-8146.
