RIDGELY, Md. – Caroline County Sheriff’s Deputies say two people were arrested late last month for tampering with an ATM.

During the evening hours of April 24th, deputies with the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office were called to a report of potential tampering with an ATM at 204 E. Sixth Street, at Queenstown Bank. After the report, Maryland State Police stopped a vehicle matching the suspect description near the intersection of Ridgely Road and Eveland Road.

During the subsequent investigation, a skimmer and SD card were found on the ATM. The pair in the suspect vehicle, identified as Dragio Mircea-Costin and Alexandru Popescu, were arrested and charged with tampering with the ATM.

It was also found that the pair were Romanian Nationals. Since their arrest, we’re told U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement have issued detainers for both.
