MILFORD, Del. – A Milford man was arrested earlier this week after police say he was in possession of a firearm while on school property.

It was learned that 21-year-old Joshua Walker reportedly arrived at the parent pick up line after dismissal at Milford High School when he dropped a firearm from his person as he got out of his vehicle. When he tried to put the firearm back in his waistband, a student saw the firearm and alerted school staff. The school resource officer quickly detained Walker.

Police say there is no evidence that Walker intended to harm anyone at the school, nor is there any existing threats at any of the schools within the Milford School District.

Walker was charged with possession of a firearm in a safe school zone, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, and possession of an untraceable firearm. He was subsequently held on a $45,000 cash bail.
