Man arrested following hit and run crash in Felton
FELTON, Del. – A Felton man was arrested last week on multiple charges following a crash.
Shortly after 5 p.m., Felton Police were called to Route 13, in the area of Route 12, for a reported hit and run crash. It was learned that a man riding a bicycle allegedly failed to yield the right of way to traffic, pulling into the roadway and causing a crash. The suspect went in between two lanes of stopped traffic and rode into the left turn lane, where he crashed into the front of moving vehicle.
No injuries were reported at the scene, however, the involved vehicle was deemed inoperable as a result of the crash. The suspect allegedly became disorderly and yelled obscenities at the driver and other people in the area before fleeing the scene.
Police were able to identify the suspect as 49-year-old David Cane, who was arrested on Thursday and charged with harassment, disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of a property damage collision, failure to provide information at collision scene, and bicyclist fail to yield right of way to vehicle.
Cane was released on his own recognizance pending a later court date and was issued a no contact order with the victim.
