Local org. providing free menstruation products
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – New resources are coming to the Newton Street Community Center.
The Wicomico County Commission for Women is set to cut the ribbon to the Pink Pantry, which will provide free menstrual products to women of all ages.
The ongoing project has expanded to find areas of need throughout Wicomico County, and Megan Outten said the pantry is a great way to help women who might have trouble getting necessary hygiene items.
“We noticed that there was definitely a need for some of this additional specialized care and programming here, in the community, so we took two parts of those data from two studies that the university worked on and applied them directly to the community,” said Outten. “This pantry is going to directly benefit the residents of the Newton Street Community Center.”
The ribbon cutting will take place at the community center on Tuesday, May 13th at 4:30pm.
